Job Title: Community Manager

Reports To: Cofounders, Ryan Kenny + Rena Satre Meloy

​


Summary
 

The Community Manager is responsible for overseeing and organizing all studio/virtual community offerings and managing the Portland-based studio. They are highly detail-oriented, organized, and able to keep track of multiple moving parts to support. They also value connection and community, are a natural people-person, and will provide an extraordinary experience for Pause community members. 
 

 

​Responsibilities
 

  • Membership Program: Manage all member relations including nurturing, celebrating, and engaging our current membership base while helping bring new members into the fold.

  • Operations: Manage class/workshop/course/events schedule + coordinate teacher substitutions. Manage online booking software and assist with physical studio operations, including opening/closing the studio, preparing the space for classes, and coordinating studio rentals.

  • Communications: Create + manage ongoing inspiring communications (e-newsletters, emails, texts, phone calls, snail mail) with current and prospective members.

  • Customer Service: Respond to general inquiries via phone and/or email in a timely and professional manner.

  • Passion: Enthusiasm and dedication to meditation, mindfulness, wellbeing, conscious leadership, and Pause's mission.
     

 

Preferred Competencies and Skills
 

  • Event Coordination: Experience in planning and coordinating events, workshops, or courses, demonstrating the ability to create meaningful experiences for participants and effectively manage logistics.

  • Tech Savvy: Proficiency in using virtual communication tools, scheduling platforms, and membership management software to streamline operations and enhance the overall member experience.

  • Marketing and Promotion: Knowledge of marketing strategies, including digital marketing and content creation, to contribute to promotional efforts and help drive attendance to Pause offerings.

  • Community Outreach: Experience in community outreach and partnership development to expand Pause's reach and build collaborative relationships with local businesses and organizations.

  • Creative Writing: Exceptional writing skills to craft engaging newsletters, emails, and communications that align with Pause's values and resonate with the community.
     

 

Location + Schedule

 

  • ​Portland, Oregon (must be local for on-site work)

  • There will be some flexibility to work remotely, but this is primarily an on-site position

  • This position requires flexibility with some evening and weekend hours

Salary + Benefits
 

  • Hourly Pay ($18-24/hour DOE)

  • Part-time Position – 20 hours per week (potential to increase hours over time)

  • Self-care + PTO days

  • Free Pause membership and attendance to all offerings
     

 

Timeline

We are accepting applications on a rolling basis and are aiming for a tentative start date of April 1st for this position.
