Overview

Eating is meant to be an enjoyable activity that provides nourishment and energy so we can live life to the fullest. And yet, our modern world has complicated our relationship with food. Faced with endless unhealthy choices and busy, stressed out lifestyles, food too often feels like a struggle.

 

Enter: Covid-19. Our already stressful world is turned on its head, and emotional eating is taking a toll. Have you been craving more cookies than usual? You're not alone, friend!

 

In this interactive masterclass, we'll explore the mechanisms behind emotional eating, learn simple strategies to uproot unhealthy patterns, and set a foundation of mindful habits to unlock the joy of eating in both the short and long term!

Format

You'll meet with your instructor and cohort for 4 75-min live virtual sessions to learn, practice, and experience guided exercises. Note: no meal or food prep is necessary.

At the end of each class, you'll be given specific home practices and activities to explore on your own throughout the week!

About the Instructor

Ryan is cofounder of Pause®, a licensed mental health professional, and a Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction instructor with over fifteen years of meditation experience. He holds a masters degree of social work with a focus in mental health from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, studied neuroscience at the Center For Healthy Minds, and trained with the Mindfulness Centers at Brown University School of Public Health and the University of Massachusetts Medical School. Ryan currently guides classes and courses at the Pause studio in Portland, works as a Mindset instructor at Nike World Headquarters, and facilitates trainings and mindful leadership programs for corporations, nonprofit organizations, schools, and hospitals across the US.
